Everyone deserves to make music
At Take it away, we believe music should be accessible to all. Since launching in 2007, we’ve helped over 95,000 people buy instruments through interest-free loans—but barriers still exist, especially for disabled musicians who need access to adapted instruments and assistive equipment.
Can we help?
At Take it away, we are committed to helping as many people as possible to get affordable access to the instruments and equipment that they need to progress as music makers and performers.
We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone with a disability or physical impairment who may need specialist help and support. Whatever kind of music you are into, if you are looking for information for yourself or for someone else who may need support, we would love to hear from you.
Together with our Inclusive Music Consortium partners, we’ll do our best to guide you to the best products and solutions currently on the market or put you in touch with someone who may be able to provide you with further advice and guidance.
Please get in touch using the form below, and we’ll get back to you soon as we can.

Our inclusive access story
The Take it away scheme was established in 2007 to help address the financial barriers that exist around access to music making. We know that for many people the upfront cost of a quality musical instrument can be prohibitive.
We also know that people with physical impairments or differences frequently face additional challenges when it comes to finding and financing the musical instruments and equipment that need and want to develop as musicians.

“It's a brilliant scheme – as a parent you are often buying big ticket items for more than one child – lap top, etc. This scheme made our purchase of the flute possible. And the lack of interest means you don't feel 'fleeced' like you usually do with credit agreements. Fantastic.”
“Thank you for thinking of those who wish to take up music! It really makes a huge difference not to be forced to rent or buy second hand. It gives options as the musician gets more experienced.”
